D.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Tahoma'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 1.3;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 The 18th and 19th century Piggot\/Pickett family of Berkshire lived for generations in the hamlet called \u2018Oare\u2019; earlier Piggots lived in the nearby town of Thatcham and nearby village of Hampstead-Norreys. \u00a0 Oare is near the village of Courage (now Curridge) which in turn is near and south of the village of Chieveley, northwest of the village of Thatcham and southwest of the village of Hampstead-Norreys. Chieveley is 4 miles north of Newbury, Berkshire. \u00a0 The villages of Curridge and Chieveley constituted the Parish of Chieveley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Tahoma'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 1.3;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/29deadpeople.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/image0012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"616\" height=\"463\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Tahoma'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 1.3;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 James Piggot, b. 1794 (a woodcutter) and Mary (n\u00e9e Armstrong) Piggot\/Pickett had seven children, but three died in childhood and the surviving three sons (William Armstrong, George and Mathew with their wives and families, if applicable) all emigrated to America (Tooele County, Utah) in 1849,<sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"1\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"000000000000019c0000000000000000_113\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-000000000000019c0000000000000000_113-1\">1<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-000000000000019c0000000000000000_113-1\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"1\">William Armstrong Pickett sailed on the <em>James Pennell<\/em> with wife Mary, Liverpool to New Orleans, 2 Sep 1849 to 22 Oct 1849, Mormon Migration Index online at lib.byu.edu\/mormonmigration\/result.php?q=pickett(accessed 16 Jul 2011).<\/span>1855,<sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"2\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"000000000000019c0000000000000000_113\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-000000000000019c0000000000000000_113-2\">2<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-000000000000019c0000000000000000_113-2\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"2\">George Pickett sailed on the <em>Emerald Isle<\/em> with wife Priscilla and four children (James, Mary, Jane by 1<sup>st<\/sup> wife Maria and Louisa by 2<sup>nd<\/sup> wife Priscilla), Liverpool to New York, 30 Nov 1855 to 29 Dec 1855, George Picket family listing (17 November 1855), ship <em>Emerald Isle, <\/em>Liverpool Office of the European Mission Emigration Register 1045:5, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Historical Department, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 0,025,691. The listing gives Louisa`s age as one year. the surviving daughter Elizabeth remained in England. \u00a0Their mother Mary died in 1834 and James remarried Hannah Cassell who bore him one son Charles, who also stayed in England. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Tahoma'; Pugmire &lsqb;Family group records collection, archives section, FHL Film 1274,858&rsqb;.
